Producer of Vancouver's hit therapy-comedy series, Heavy Mental Comedy, Melanie Rose is a vibrant pink ray of sunshine. She's known for her sharp wit, relatable stories, and excellent crowd work. Born and raised in Richmond, BC, Melanie is the oldest of four and a grade 12 graduate from the class of 1984. Now over 50, she fulfils her dreams by telling jokes wherever! Her favourite memories include staying up late with her Nana to watch Johnny Carson and Carol Burnett. “All I ever wanted to do was jump into that TV and be a part of that fun, happy world,” Rose says. Melanie began her comedy journey by attending a class and then performing at local open mic nights, where she quickly developed a loyal following. Her unique perspective on relationships, addiction, and even exercising in front of a gym window has garnered attention from comedy clubs across Canada, leading her to tour as a professional comedian.

As her career grows, Melanie continues to refine her craft, polishing her material and developing a distinctive voice. In addition to her work as a comedian, she has been involved with the homeless community for nearly 10 years and is a mental health advocate. She created her show called "Heavy Mental Comedy" and is developing it into a one-woman touring show. Through her humour, Melanie raises awareness about the importance of seeking help for mental health and fighting the stigma associated with it. With her quick wit, infectious personality, and commitment to making the world a better place, Melanie Rose is a comedian to watch in the years to come.
