When not writing for one of Canada’s top television comedy series, Canadian Comedy Award winner Rebecca Kohler takes to demolishing stand-up stages in both Canada and the US. Balancing an innate benevolence with a tongue like an acid attack, Rebecca has the ability to dissect the darkness of life’s truths while maintaining a cheeky adorability. With a focus on connecting as humans and an aversion to low-hanging fruit, Rebecca Kohler’s stand-up will educate, comfort and eye-open all while inducing laughter. If you find yourself groaning while watching her, Rebecca asks you to remember that she is not offensive, but that life itself is offensive. With fifteen years under her belt, the 2013 Toronto’s Best Female Comic (NOW Magazine) has had her own half hour special for the Comedy Network, multiple televised appearances at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, her own 1-hour show at Toronto’s JFL42, several TV tapings at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Moncton Comedy Festival and several other Canadian comedy festivals in cities you may or may not have heard of. Rebecca also tours nationally as a headliner for Yuk Yuk's. Writing credits include: CBC’s Workin’ Moms, Schitt’s Creek (starring Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara), Kim’s Convenience, The Ron James Show, Spun Out, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Scaredy Squirrel, The Debaters, Just For Laughs Galas (including, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Jim Gaffigan). In 2015, Rebecca also had her own national weekly column for Metro Canada. Rebecca should be famous by now but whatever. | |
